Consumers will receive 2% cashback on Apple Titanium Credit Card
Apple titanium credit card presented with surprisingly strict care instructions.
Most people don’t care if their credit card gets scratched or scuffed, as long as they don’t lose the ability to buy things with it. But a sleek new titanium Apple Card could change that attitude.
This week Apple Inc. posted a support page that details how to take care of your Apple Card. The matte white finish over titanium accentuates the laser engraving, but as anyone with white furniture or household appliances knows, it can get dirty or scratched quickly.
For cleaning, Apple strongly recommends customers «wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free microfiber cloth», and then «moisten a soft microfiber cloth with isopropyl alcohol and gently wipe the card».
Do not use household cleaners, compressed air or aerosols for cleaning. Apple claims fabrics such as leather and denim can permanently discolor the card, which can also be scratched by keys or touching another card in your wallet. Keep the card away from magnets.
However, the physical card exists mainly as a status symbol. A joint venture between Apple and Goldman Sachs, the card is primarily intended for mobile use via the iPhone..
On Tuesday, the card was made available to consumers, all iPhone owners in the US. Apple promises fast sign-ups and cancellation of most fees, as well as 2% cashback when using the Apple Pay app to pay. The physical card will provide 1% cashback when paying for purchases.
